Welcome to Uecker Counseling!

MY SPECIALTY

I am excited to offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions to adults, children and families. I specialize in treating ADHD in both adults and children, anxiety, and stress associated with major life transitions and difficult relationships.

Women: I also very much enjoy helping women learn about themselves, address their core fears, improve their ability to manage and cope with anxiety, improve self care and communicate their needs, thoughts and feelings to others in a healthy way.

Children, Parents and Family: I am proud to serve children and families who need help learning the skills needed to connect with others in a real and meaningful way, managing challenging behaviors, regulating emotions and setting appropriate expectations. For parents who are overwhelmed and feel like they have tried everything, but nothing works - I would love to partner with you!

My name is Bethany Uecker, LICSW. I am the owner of Uecker Counseling, LLC in Prior Lake, Minnesota. I specialize in providing solution focused & relationship based support alongside individual therapy & behavioral interventions using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.  I would love to meet you and support you in any way I can. I recently moved to Minnesota from Portland, Oregon. While I am no longer able to provide in person therapy for those living in Oregon, I continue to offer virtual sessions for my Oregon clients.

Women

Women: As a woman, wife and mother, I can personally say - the struggle is real! but we can also experience tremendous joy in the midst of the chaos.

The busy days can often become overwhelming and endless to-do-lists can make me feel trapped. You may feel like you can never measure up. You may suffer from anxiety, depression, relationship issues, insecurity, feeling disorganized or angry because there is never enough hours in the day. We often let our core fears and insecurities keep us from connecting with others in meaningful ways. We allow past hurts and old baggage to dictate our actions and limit us. Perhaps we put others first and we neglect our own self care. Or maybe we take care of ourselves, but then feel guilty afterwards about what we “should have been doing” instead.

I would love to partner with you in learning about yourself, what “makes you tic” and how you can move past whatever has been limiting you and experience more JOY!

Kids & Family

Children: We teach children how to recognize their emotions and communicate them to others helps to avoid tantrums and empowers them to cope with “big feelings” in safe and appropriate ways. We support kids with ADHD, past trauma, sensory processing issues, anxiety, depression, autism and collaborate with medical and naturopathic specialists

Parents: We give parents the tools to manage challenging behaviors and connect with their children in a real and meaningful way.  You can discipline without yelling and discipline without tears. You can see your child's heart and parent with yours.

Family: We help children, siblings and parents to enjoy each other more fully and live with genuine connection.  Is your family going through a difficult time? Let us provide a safe space for everyone in your family to share their thoughts and needs. Come discover your parenting strengths, as we work with challenging children and siblings, uniting them through play and fun activities that all will enjoy.

Young Adults

Young Adults: Many of my clients are walking through the transition from high school to college or newly out on their own and in need of support. They don’t now exactly what’s wrong or how to fix it but they just feel “off”. Common problems are relationship issues, conflict, anxiety, depression, time management, trauma, communication and balancing the demands of work, school and social life. Or maybe there is a lack of motivation with school, friends or family. I want to listen and see how I can help. I want to empower young adults to set boundaries and communicate their needs in safe and healthy ways. Above all, I just want to listen.
